Dollar Nears 207,000 Tomans in Tehran's Free Market Monday

The US dollar's rate in Tehran's free market rose on Monday, 9 Shahrivar 1405 (August 31, 2026), reaching 207,140 tomans as of 11:13am Tehran time, according to Donya e Eqtesad. Separately, the pricing site tgju.org put the live dollar rate at 206,000 to 206,220 tomans, up about 2.7 percent from the same day last week (Tuesday, 3 Shahrivar, at 200,500 tomans). Per Sahmino's own price data at the same hour, the dollar traded up 0.39 percent at 206,820 tomans.
The rate for dollar transfers through the Currency and Gold Exchange Center also rose from the previous day, Donya e Eqtesad reported. The rise in the free market dollar rate coincides with new US threats of what Washington has called a 100 percent sanctions push against Iran.
