According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, Tehran's 18 karat gold price declined on Thursday, September 17, 2026 (26 Shahrivar 1405), and the Emami gold coin traded lower at 230.8 million tomans. Sahmino's own pricing data, recorded at 11:30am the same day, put the Emami coin at 232.01 million tomans (down 0.86 percent) and 18 karat gold at 23,270,500 tomans (down about 1 percent) from the previous day.

The decline came even as global spot gold, per Sahmino data logged the same hour, rose 1.59 percent (about $68) to $4,325.64 an ounce. The simultaneous drop in the free market dollar rate was cited as the main reason domestic toman gold and coin prices fell despite the global ounce price's advance.
