Energy Ministry: Yazd, Qom and Genaveh Power Plants Posted 100 Percent Generation Readiness in Mordad and Shahrivar

According to Mehr News Agency, citing the Energy Ministry, a performance review of Iran's thermal power plants for Mordad and Shahrivar 1405 (roughly July 23 to September 22, 2026) placed the Yazd, Genaveh, Qom, Shirkooh, Shobad, Sanandaj, Semnan-area Samangan, Sarv and Taban combined-cycle plants in the top tier with a generation readiness index of 100%. Among gas-turbine plants, Qods, Zagros, Isin, South Isfahan, Bampur and Ofogh also recorded 100% readiness.

Among steam plants, Shahid Rajaee scored 99%, Toos 98%, Shazand 97%, Bisotun 96% and Mashhad 94%, the highest readiness levels in that group. The Energy Ministry said the top-ranked plants will receive a 20% allocation of surplus liquidity. Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the ministry's deputy for electricity and energy, said plant assessments will continue on the basis of actual performance and field productivity. The review covers the two peak months of summer electricity demand.
