24 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Europe's main stock indexes mostly closed lower on Friday (2 Mordad 1405, 24 July 2026). The Stoxx 600 fell 0.41% to 641.09, Germany's DAX slipped 0.35% to about 24,828, and France's CAC 40 lost 0.47% to about 8,338, while London's FTSE 100 gained 0.27% to about 10,600.
Selling pressure was concentrated in technology and cyclical stocks, following heavy losses among Asian chipmakers, where SK Hynix dropped more than 10% and Japan's Nikkei fell nearly 3%. Rising oil prices and geopolitical tensions in West Asia added to the risk-off mood in markets.
