Iran's police information center said on Thursday, October 1, 2026 (9 Mehr 1405) that allegations made by online gold trading platform Milli Gold against the performance of FARAJA's economic security police are legally baseless. According to Khabaronline, citing Mehr, the economic security police said monitoring online gold selling platforms to prevent short selling, money laundering and other economic crimes is a statutory duty, and that all actions taken followed decisions of a special task force including the police, the prosecutor's office and other oversight bodies, after repeated prior warnings to the platform's managers.

The statement follows a letter Milli Gold sent to Iran's Supreme National Security Council on Saturday, September 26, 2026 (4 Mehr), asking for restrictions on users' access to its gold vault to be lifted, a claim the Central Bank had already denied on Sunday, September 27 (5 Mehr). Police said judicial pursuit of the case continues and asked media and citizens to follow updates only through official and judicial sources.
