Global Gold Heads for Second Straight Weekly Drop at $4,184 an Ounce

According to Mehr News Agency, the spot gold price edged only slightly in Friday, 10 Mehr 1405 (October 2, 2026) trading, standing at 4,184.45 dollars an ounce. Spot gold has fallen more than 2 percent so far this week and is on track for its second consecutive weekly decline.

The weekly pullback comes after global gold briefly touched near 4,220 dollars an ounce earlier in the week. Sahmino's own data shows the gold ounce price at 4,186.34 dollars as of 11:34 Tehran time today, up about 0.26 percent from the previous reading. Gold's recent swings continue to track Federal Reserve rate expectations, the strength of the US dollar, and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
