9 August 2026 | 2 months ago
Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry said on X on Sunday, August 9, 2026 that firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out earlier that day at a facility inside Aramco's Jazan refinery in southwestern Saudi Arabia, near the border with Yemen, and that no injuries were reported. The ministry did not disclose a cause. The 400,000 barrel per day refinery has been shut since July 27, when an attack claimed by Yemen's Houthis damaged its Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle complex and tank farm. Aramco's chief executive has previously said the attacks caused some production interruptions but no material financial or operational impact.
