The chief executive of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company said on Sunday 26 July 2026 that unit 6 of the Dehaq 2 and 3 gas pressure boosting facilities had been commissioned, and that the first domestically built compressor with a capacity of 40 million cubic metres had been produced at that station.
According to Mehr News Agency, building the equipment domestically is part of an effort to replace imported compressors in the gas transmission network.
Pressure boosting stations help maintain gas pressure along the national transmission lines and supply fuel to industry and power plants at peak demand. The report did not state the investment involved or when full operation is expected.
