Iran's free-market dollar rate extended its climb on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Donya-e-Eqtesad reported (11:27 Tehran time) the dollar rose from the previous day to 216,390 tomans. Sahmino's own live data and tgju.org showed the move accelerating through the session, with the dollar up 1.54 percent (33,000 rials) to 2,173,000 rials (217,300 tomans) as of 11:29 Tehran time. The jump coincided with intensifying Iran-US military tension and a decline in Tehran's stock index.
