Global Gold Steady Ahead of US Jobs Report, on Track for a Weekly Gain

According to Boursenews, global gold prices held steady on Friday, 13 Shahrivar 1405 (September 4, 2026), ahead of the release of the US nonfarm payrolls report, with spot gold at 4,468.27 dollars an ounce; US gold futures fell 0.6 percent to 4,514.60 dollars. Gold had risen about 2 percent on Thursday after Federal Reserve board member Christopher Waller said he would support holding interest rates steady if the recent slowdown in inflationary pressure continues, remarks that led traders to scale back expectations for a September rate increase. According to Reuters, the CME FedWatch tool put the odds of a Federal Reserve rate hike this month at 50 percent.
In other precious metals, silver fell 0.5 percent to 66.59 dollars an ounce, palladium fell about 1 percent to 1,408.75 dollars, and platinum fell 1.5 percent to 1,799.44 dollars an ounce.
