According to Mehr News, citing Reuters, spot gold rose 1.2 percent to $4,378 an ounce in trading on Friday, September 18, 2026, while US gold futures settled 0.6 percent higher at $4,424.90, putting the metal on track for its first weekly gain after four consecutive weeks of losses. Chris Gaffney, president of world markets at EverBank, said falling oil prices eased inflation concerns and supported the rally, even as markets absorbed the Federal Reserve's 25 basis point rate hike to a 3.75 to 4 percent range and the Bank of Japan's rate increase to its highest level in 31 years. In the same session, spot silver rose 2.3 percent to $66.70, platinum gained 2.2 percent to $1,812.50, and palladium rose 1.5 percent to $1,310.20. Sahmino's own price feed recorded spot gold at $4,383.45 and spot silver at $66.24 as of 00:51 today, consistent with the Reuters figures.
