Gold and the Emami coin fell in Thursday's market while the free-market dollar rose 110 tomans

Gold and foreign exchange moved in opposite directions in Tehran's market on Thursday, 8 Mordad 1405 (30 July 2026). According to the gold and FX desk table published by Eghtesad Online, a gram of 18-carat gold fell 145,500 tomans from Wednesday 7 Mordad to 18,664,700 tomans, the Emami coin dropped 520,000 tomans to 188,490,000 tomans, and the Bahar Azadi coin fell 530,000 tomans to 184,160,000 tomans.
In the same market the free-market dollar rose 110 tomans to 193,610 tomans. The euro gained 440 tomans to 220,970 tomans and the UAE dirham reached 53,222 tomans, while the Turkish lira was unchanged at 4,080 tomans. The smaller coin denominations moved against the larger ones: the half coin and the quarter coin each rose 500,000 tomans, to 96,400,000 and 54,300,000 tomans respectively.
Eghtesad Online attributed the fall in domestic gold to a decline in the global gold ounce, which the report recorded at $4,040.83, some $16.48 below the previous day.
