Iran's 18-carat gold reaches 18.71 million tomans a gram and the new-design coin 187 million tomans

Iran's gold, coin and currency markets closed higher in trading on Wednesday, 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405). According to Mehr News Agency, citing the Tehran Gold and Jewellery Union and the Iran Currency and Gold Exchange Centre, one gram of 18-carat gold reached 18.71 million tomans and one mesghal of gold reached 81.05 million tomans. Gold on world markets was recorded at $4,027 an ounce the same day.
The full Bahar Azadi coin of the new design traded at 187 million tomans and the old design at 183.5 million tomans. In the Sabzeh Meydan market, the half coin was priced at 95 million tomans, the quarter coin at 53 million tomans and the one-gram coin at 27.5 million tomans.
At the Iran Currency and Gold Exchange Centre, the US dollar remittance selling rate rose 331 tomans from the previous day to 152,427 tomans and the buying rate rose 328 tomans to 151,055 tomans. The euro remittance selling rate rose 746 tomans to 173,774 tomans, and the UAE dirham remittance selling rate rose 90 tomans to 41,505 tomans.
