28 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The government spokesman said on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, in response to a question about damage caused by the US strike on southern Iran, that the Bushehr meteorological centre has been destroyed and that the city's airport requires a full rebuild.
Bushehr is one of Iran's important energy and port infrastructure hubs on the northern Persian Gulf, and its airport plays a key role in moving the workforce of the region's oil and gas industries.
Officials in Hormozgan province had earlier estimated damage from last week's strike on that province's infrastructure at 60 trillion rials.
