Iran's foreign minister holds phone call with Japanese counterpart
28 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with his Japanese counterpart on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, discussing recent developments, matters of mutual interest between the two countries, and regional issues.
The call follows a series of telephone consultations by Iran's diplomatic apparatus. Araghchi had spoken a day earlier with the foreign ministers of Oman and Saudi Arabia about the Strait of Hormuz.
Japan was one of the major buyers of Iranian crude before sanctions intensified, and economic relations between the two countries remain of interest to those active in foreign trade.
