High mileage ride hailing drivers to get free dual fuel conversion

9 September 2026 · 28 days ago

With the third tier gasoline price rising to 10,000 tomans per liter from the early hours of September 8, 2026 (17 Shahrivar 1405), the government has drawn up a new plan to support ride hailing drivers. According to Boursenews, citing ISNA, Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar, head of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, said the fuel quota and price for ride hailing vehicles will not change, but high mileage vehicles flagged by ride hailing platforms will, in order of activity level, be fitted free of charge with fourth generation dual fuel equipment. He also said an extra fuel quota of up to 300 liters at the third tier price, scaled to mileage, will be allocated to ride hailing vehicles carrying goods and passengers. Saeed Rahmansalari, the company's CNG project manager, said the first phase begins Saturday, September 12 (21 Shahrivar), with text messages sent to owners of eligible vehicles, who can register through the gcr.niopdc.ir portal.
