12 October 2026 | 8 days ago

Manouchehr Khajedalouei, head of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation, said at a press event on Monday, 20 Mehr 1405 (12 October 2026), marking the signing of a memorandum with a qard al-hasna (interest-free loan) bank, that under the deal 200 million tomans in qard al-hasna loans are planned for each housing unit in the "Homes of Hope" scheme for the deprived; payment follows the loan ceilings the Central Bank announces. The Foundation's target for this year is to build 220,000 units in cities and villages. He said the Foundation hands land it owns to applicants free of charge, and eligibility requires being in income deciles 1 to 4 and a green "J" form, meaning the applicant has not previously received state housing support. The cabinet resolution for the scheme was issued last Bahman.

In a separate report the same day, Mehr also quoted the Foundation's head on rural housing terms: eligible villagers in deciles 1 to 4 can receive a 500 million toman qard al-hasna loan with 20-year repayment and a grant of up to 600 million tomans. Of that grant, 200 million tomans comes from Imam Khomeini's Account 100 and a further 400 million tomans is added for those covered by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee or the Welfare Organization; total support can reach 900 million tomans. Landless villagers can receive free land on a 99-year lease from the Foundation.
