Abdoljalal Iri, spokesman for parliament's Civil Engineering Commission, said on Sunday, October 18, 2026 (26 Mehr 1405) that a plan to launch an inquiry into the Tehran Province Building Engineering Organization was reviewed at the commission's meeting, attended by senior Roads and Urban Development Ministry officials and the head of the national building engineering organization, and approved with the members' consent. He said the plan's focus includes large sums accumulated in the body's accounts, a lack of transparency in its cash flows and flaws in how work is referred to engineers. Iri said that once the Tehran case is settled, the situation in other provinces will also be examined.\n\nThe spokesman also said the Seventh Development Plan law sets the share of industrialised construction at 15% of projects, but the implementing bodies have no documented figures on how much has been achieved.
