Imam Khomeini Airport Says No New Flight Restrictions Have Been Announced and Flights to Turkey and China Continue
26 September 2026 · 10 days ago
Ramin Kashef-Azar, CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City Company, told Tasnim on Saturday, September 26, 2026 that apart from routes already cancelled, including the UAE, Iraq and Georgia, no foreign country has announced new restrictions on Iranian flights. He noted that flights to Saudi Arabia were not operating even before the latest restrictions.
Kashef-Azar said outbound and return flights to Turkey, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Pakistan are operating normally at Imam Khomeini Airport, and Civil Aviation Organization officials are in talks to reopen the closed routes. The halt in flights to some neighbours, especially the UAE, also raises the cost and time of moving time-sensitive goods in Iran's foreign trade.
