Customs Calls a Notice Raising iPhone Import Duties Fake
26 September 2026 · 11 days ago
Iran's Customs Administration said on Saturday, September 26, 2026, according to Tasnim, that it has issued no notice or circular in recent days changing import duties on mobile phones. It said a document circulating on some social networks as a tariff increase on iPhones is fake.
Import duties on mobile phones, iPhones in particular, are a key driver of their domestic prices, and reports of changes usually move prices in the phone market. With the denial, current import duty rates remain unchanged.
