Iran Air (Homa) said on Saturday, 25 July 2026, that for this year's Arbaeen flight operation it has raised the number of departure points for Najaf flights from 7 to 14 and is offering more than 32,000 seats on the route. In its account of the same announcement, the Mehr news agency put the number of departure airports at 15.
The stated aim is to fly pilgrims directly to Najaf from a larger number of provinces.
Arbaeen is one of the largest annual passenger movements in Iran, and it shapes flight capacity, ticket prices and land border traffic in the weeks ahead, which matters for the country's transport industry.
