Iran Air completed its 17-station flight network for the Arbaeen operation on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026 (12 Mordad 1405), with the first Arbaeen flight from Gorgan airport to Najaf.
The annual Arbaeen air operation devotes a large share of the country's fleet capacity over several weeks to carrying pilgrims to Iraq, and is one of the busiest periods of the year for airlines, airports and the jet fuel market.
The 17-station network was completed at a time when flight and fuel constraints stemming from the recent conflict had weighed on fleet planning.
