Iran approves regulation on outsourced state workers, moving to direct salary payment and a reduced contractor role
29 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The government took a first step on Wednesday 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405) toward restructuring the status of outsourced workers in state bodies, approving a new regulation. Under the measure, these workers' salaries are to be paid directly, reducing the role of contracting companies in the payment chain.
According to the published report, the change covers around 700,000 outsourced workers employed in government bodies. Indirect payment of wages through intermediary companies has for years been a source of complaints from this group about payment delays and deductions.
Details of the implementation timetable, the bodies covered and the mechanism replacing contractor arrangements were not given in the announcement.
