Administrative and Recruitment Organisation: contract workers' pay to be deposited directly; status conversion not currently possible
26 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The head of Iran's Administrative and Recruitment Organisation said on Saturday, 25 July 2026, that legal obstacles prevent the government from converting the employment status of contract workers, but that under a new decision their pay and benefits will be deposited directly into their own accounts.
He said the workers will also receive credits to improve their chances in public recruitment examinations. Contract workers are employed in government bodies through intermediary contracting firms, and part of their pay previously went to those firms.
The change matters for the labour market and for the cost structure of public bodies: removing the intermediary from the payment chain raises this group's net income and alters how public agencies settle accounts for contracted staff.
