Outsourced workers' pay to be transferred directly by the government from the start of autumn

A deputy head of Iran's administrative and recruitment affairs organisation said that under a government resolution, the salaries and benefits of outsourced workers will be paid directly by the government into the final beneficiary's account, and that the scheme is expected to take effect from the start of autumn 1405. The announcement was published on Tuesday 28 July 2026 (6 Mordad 1405).
Outsourced staff make up a significant share of employment at government bodies and affiliated companies, and their pay has until now been routed through contractors. Direct payment removes the contractors' intermediation margin and makes the cash flow of this part of the labour market more transparent, which has a direct bearing on the manpower supply companies that hold contracts with government bodies.
