Iran Customs, in a circular to supervisors and directors general of executive customs offices, announced an extension of delegated special authorities through the end of Azar 1405, around December 21, 2026. Under the circular, the temporary entry permit for passenger cars holding a Carnet de Passage or a Foreign Investment Organization license was extended by two months without needing approval from Customs' Import Bureau, with executive customs offices sending the required police introduction letter directly to traffic police. Mehr News Agency reported the circular on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The circular also delegated to executive customs offices nationwide the authority to extend, by three months, temporary entry for road construction and mining machinery that has already been in the country more than two years under temporary entry, and allowed acceptance of domestic manufacturing depth lists for vehicles and goods based solely on verifying the authenticity of the Industry Ministry's letter. On the export side, authority to extend Article 51 temporary entry licenses, covering raw materials imported for processing and export, by three months was also delegated to executive customs offices. Customs offices must report monthly statistics on extended licenses to Customs headquarters.
