The Iran Mercantile Exchange's derivatives and financial instruments management unit announced on Sunday, 25 Mordad 1405 (August 16, 2026), the launch of a gold bullion options contract maturing in Ordibehesht 1406. According to Kalakhabar, the exchange's official news outlet, trading in the contract will begin Saturday, 31 Mordad 1405 (August 22, 2026), with a maturity date of 18 Ordibehesht 1406 (May 8, 2027).
Per the announcement, the options contracts carry no price fluctuation band and open with a 15-minute opening auction at the start of each trading session before moving into normal continuous trading. The instrument lets market participants hedge against gold bullion price swings or take positions on price moves over the contract's set period.
