According to EcoIran, Iran's daily gasoline consumption stands at about 135 million liters against daily production of 121 million liters, leaving a daily shortfall of roughly 14 million liters. Citing official Saghab Esfahani, the report said the government is weighing three scenarios to manage the gap: cutting off rationed gasoline supply at stations once the daily cap is reached; keeping the current ration and selling surplus consumption at free market prices; or shifting the subsidy from vehicles to individuals, allocating about 1.1 liters a day to each of Iran's roughly 85 million people, alongside 30 million liters a day for public transport.
Separately, official Oil Ministry data published by Boursenews showed that in just five days, 12 to 16 Mordad 1405, the country consumed a combined 668 million liters of gasoline. The highest daily figure in that span was 140.7 million liters on 12 Mordad, and the lowest was 122.3 million liters on 16 Mordad.
