Brigadier General Hossein Rahimi, head of FARAJA's Economic Security Police, said on Friday, August 7, 2026 (16 Mordad 1405), according to Ecoiran (citing Avash), that authorities have uncovered a large scale fraud, academic document forgery and money laundering case run through the "Pars Canada" immigration company. According to Rahimi, the case's main defendant forged academic credentials and foreign language certificates and set up fake accounts to defraud people seeking to emigrate or work abroad.
Rahimi said 300 people have filed complaints against the company so far, and the total value of the fraud is estimated at about 4 trillion tomans (4 hemat). He said more than 2 trillion tomans worth of the defendants' real estate has been seized, and the attempted outflow of $300 million belonging to the main defendant was blocked. The case's seven main defendants, all members of one family, are currently residing in Canada, and efforts are underway to extradite them; other defendants have been identified inside Iran and barred from leaving the country.
