Iran's electronic food voucher credit stays unchanged at one million tomans per person for Mordad

As of Sunday 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405), no official announcement had been published on raising the credit on Iran's electronic food voucher for the Mordad instalment. On the latest information, the credit for this instalment will be one million tomans per person, the same as in previous rounds, and recipients can use it to buy essential goods at participating stores.
The electronic food voucher scheme was introduced after the overhaul of the subsidy system and the removal of the preferential exchange rate, with the aim of supporting household living standards. Persistent inflation and rising prices for essential goods have eroded part of the credit's original effect, and both the government and parliament have repeatedly raised the question of increasing it. Ahmad Meydari, minister of cooperatives, labour and social welfare, had previously said several times that revising the voucher amount was on the government's agenda.
Peyman Falsafi, deputy head of the parliamentary agriculture commission, has said the government should cut its non essential spending and use a supplementary budget for the year 1405 to make room for a higher voucher credit. Speculation over the past months about an increase of 20 to 30 percent was never implemented.
