Iran's Exchange Center for Currency and Gold set the dollar remittance rate for trades on Wednesday 5 August 2026 at 153,704 tomans and the euro remittance rate at 177,161 tomans. The rates were published the same day by Mehr News Agency.
The Exchange Center's remittance rate applies to part of the country's import and registered commercial demand and differs from the open market rate. On the same day the free market dollar traded around 189,000 tomans, leaving a substantial gap between the official remittance rate and the open market.
The persistence of that gap is one of the variables shaping import costs, the pricing of imported goods, and expectations among participants in the currency market.
