The selling rate for the remittance dollar at Iran's Exchange Centre for Currency and Gold moved into the 152,000 toman range on Tuesday 28 July 2026. Data recorded the same day put the remittance dollar selling rate at 152,096 tomans and the buying rate at 150,728 tomans, both about 0.2 percent higher than the previous day.
The Exchange Centre is the government's official channel for supplying foreign currency for imports and official uses, and its rate is set separately from the open market. On the same day the open market dollar rate in Tehran was recorded at about 190,610 tomans, leaving a substantial gap between the official remittance rate and the free rate.
The official rate continued to climb on a day when the Central Bank governor said the country's currency supply process was proceeding without difficulty and that there was no shortage of foreign exchange resources.
