Iran's Central Insurance said in figures reported on Sunday, October 18, 2026, that the industry's premiums written reached about 709.9 trillion tomans in the first half of the Iranian year 1405, up 113.5% from the first half of 1404. Claims paid exceeded 392.8 trillion tomans in the same period, rising 133.4% year on year. The figures are based on insurers' self-reporting to the Sanhab system; premium growth alone does not establish an increase in insurers' profits.
