Mobarakeh Steel Named in worldsteel's 2026 Safety and Health Excellence Recognition

The World Steel Association (worldsteel), in a release issued in New Delhi on 13 October 2026 (21 Mehr 1405), named six member companies for demonstrable improvements in safety and health. Mobarakeh Steel is listed under occupational health management for its "pre-employment psychological fitness-for-work and early support programme", which combines standardised psychological assessments with confidential interviews and, where needed, clinical review. Saeed Zarandi, chief executive of the Mobarakeh Steel Group, told Mehr on Monday, 19 October 2026, that the programme has run since 2022 and has covered 3,745 job applicants. He said the group was also among five finalists in the sustainability category of the 2026 Steelie Awards; the winners of that category, announced on 12 October 2026, were Japan's JFE Steel and Nippon Steel, not Mobarakeh.
