Sadegh Azimifar, head of Iran's National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, announced on Tuesday, 14 Mehr 1405 (October 6, 2026), that power plant fuel reserves have exceeded 90 percent of capacity, now standing at about 3,200,000,000 liters of fuel oil and gas. According to EcoIran, that volume is up 25 percent from the same period last year, giving the country a buffer for stable winter energy supply and reduced power shortfalls. Earlier, Omid Shakeri, managing director of National Petrochemical Industries, reported that 60 percent of petrochemical capacity lost earlier this year had been restored, while Ahmad Zeraatkar, the oil minister's deputy for planning, said about 50 percent of South Pars' damaged capacity had returned to service by the end of Shahrivar (September 22).
