Iran's Rent Inflation Hits 32.8 Percent Year on Year in Shahrivar as Housing Group Index Rises 3.6 Percent Monthly

According to data from Iran's Statistical Center carried by Tasnim and reflected by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 (8 Mehr 1405), the household rent index reached 455.3 in Shahrivar (the Iranian month ending September 22). Monthly rent inflation stood at 3.6 percent, point to point inflation at 32.8 percent and annual inflation at 32.2 percent. The broader "housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" group index rose to 473.4 from 457 in Mordad, carrying a 36.11 percent weight in the household expenditure basket. The housing sub index alone reached 459.3, with monthly inflation of 3.6 percent, point to point inflation of 33.5 percent and annual inflation of 32.7 percent. The Statistical Center also reported the construction sector contracted 6.4 percent year on year in the spring quarter of 1405.
