Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in an interview with Al Jazeera, reported by Fararu on September 20, 2026 (29 Shahrivar 1405), that consultations with Qatari and Pakistani mediators to end the war are continuing, and that Iran has conveyed its conditions to Washington and is awaiting a response from Donald Trump. He said Iran's three conditions are an end to fighting on all fronts, the release of Iran's frozen assets, and an end to the naval blockade. Rezaei said the war was started by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's action and that the US president's calculations about Iran have been wrong. He also claimed Iranian forces recently tested an anti-ship missile near a US aircraft carrier and said Iran is better prepared than before to counter air attacks.
