On the morning of Saturday, September 20, 2026 (29 Shahrivar 1405), the US State Department and American embassies in several West Asian countries simultaneously issued travel warnings, urging US citizens to reassess travel plans given the risk of a rapid escalation between Saudi Arabia and Yemeni forces and regional flight disruptions. According to EcoIran, citing Tasnim, Alex Beltsas, CNN's senior national security analyst, wrote on X that Donald Trump held a meeting at Camp David over the weekend to review options for a strike on Yemen and returned early to the White House, which announced the cancellation of all of Trump's plans for the day. As of publication, the White House had not officially confirmed any decision on military action.
