Iran's Statistical Center (SCI), in a report published on June 27, 2026, put the year-on-year inflation rate for the Iranian month ending in mid-June at 88.6 percent and the 12-month average inflation rate at 62 percent, up 4.3 percentage points from the prior month. The same report showed year-on-year inflation in rural areas topping 108 percent, with bread and grain prices up 138.8 percent, dairy and eggs up 151.9 percent, and red meat and poultry up 178.2 percent. Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) reported year-on-year inflation of 83.1 percent and average annual inflation of 57.7 percent for the same period, highlighting a methodological gap between the country's two official statistical bodies.
