Kushner: We've Had Positive, Active Talks With Iran but No Agreement Yet
18 August 2026 | 2 months ago
Jared Kushner, senior adviser to and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, said, per Reuters as reported by Khabaronline on Monday, 26 Mordad 1405 (August 17, 2026), that the US has not yet reached an understanding with Iran but has held positive and active talks. According to Mehr News Agency, he said US engagement with different parts of the Iranian government has become more serious and extensive than ever.
Kushner's remarks came largely on the sidelines of his and Steve Witkoff's trip to Tel Aviv to meet Benjamin Netanyahu and discuss the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, on the same day the Iran-US 60-day understanding lapsed without formal extension and Trump, in a separate Fox News interview, said he has no timeline for reaching a permanent deal.
