Monthly inflation for vegetables and pulses reached 8.3% in Tir; bread and cereals 5.9% against headline inflation of 3.1%

30 July 2026 | 3 months ago

According to data from the Statistical Center of Iran on monthly inflation in household consumer goods and services for Tir 1405, the "vegetables and pulses" group recorded the month's largest price increase at 8.3 percent, roughly 2.7 times the monthly headline rate, which was reported at 3.1 percent for the same month. This group-level breakdown was recirculated on Thursday, 30 July 2026 (8 Mordad 1405).

In the same report, the "bread and cereals" group showed monthly inflation of 5.9 percent, and other food items 6.9 percent. Tir 1405, which ran from 22 June to 22 July 2026, is the harvest season for many summer vegetables and pulses, a period usually associated with increased supply.

These figures complement the Statistical Center's earlier report, which put point-to-point inflation for Tir at 87.9 percent, monthly inflation for the food, beverages and tobacco group at 2.5 percent, and annual inflation at 66 percent. A significant share of Iran's pulse consumption is met through imports, so the exchange rate and the timing of currency allocation are among the channels affecting prices in this group.
