Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi left Tehran on Monday night, Shahrivar 2, 1405 (August 24, 2026), after a one day visit, seen off by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. According to Ecoiran, citing ISNA, the Pakistani delegation had earlier met the same day with Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, speaker of Iran's parliament, and President Masoud Pezeshkian. It was Munir's fourth visit to Iran since the Farvardin 19 ceasefire between Iran and the United States. Momeni, after seeing off the delegation, described the meetings as held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, saying both sides emphasized strengthening bilateral ties and continued consultations. The report said the talks covered bilateral cooperation and support for regional peace, stability and security amid renewed Iran-US tensions.
