Parliament's agriculture committee says supplies of essential goods are secured for coming months

The deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on agriculture, water, natural resources and the environment said on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, that reports indicate the necessary arrangements have been made to meet the country's needs for essential goods and animal feed in the months ahead.
He added that as long as public buying behaviour remains normal, there is no cause for concern over the supply of essential goods.
The remarks come as securing foreign currency for essential-goods imports remains a live issue. The vegetable oil association had earlier said roughly 4 billion euros in foreign-currency claims owed to importers of essential goods remain unpaid.
