The general assembly of Persian Gulf Holding called to elect the company's board members failed to reach a quorum and did not proceed. According to a report published on Wednesday 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405), representatives of some of the major shareholders left the meeting, and no reason for the walkout has been stated.
The absence of an official explanation has prompted calls for clarification from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, which is represented among the holding's major shareholders through subsidiary companies.
Persian Gulf Holding is one of the largest petrochemical companies on the Tehran Stock Exchange by market capitalisation, and the composition of its board matters to holders of the stock and to its group of subsidiaries. No new date for the assembly had been announced at the time of the report.
