Persian Gulf states and the Muslim World League condemn the drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities
30 July 2026 | 3 months ago
A number of Persian Gulf and Arab states, together with the Muslim World League, condemned the drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.
Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, which it said were carried out by Iran-aligned groups in Iraq, and described Tuesday's drone attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province as a flagrant violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty and a threat to its security and territorial integrity. The United Arab Emirates also condemned the drone attack on Jordan, calling it a dangerous escalation and reaffirming its full solidarity with Jordan.
Saudi air defences on Tuesday intercepted and destroyed several drones heading towards oil facilities in the Eastern Province, and the Jordanian armed forces said they had shot down a drone in the country's airspace early the same day. The condition of Persian Gulf oil facilities affects global oil prices through energy supply risk.
