Qualcomm quarterly revenue reaches $9.9 billion as handset chip sales fall 20%

Qualcomm released the results of the third quarter of its 2026 fiscal year on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, after the close of US trading. Revenue for the quarter was $9.9 billion, ahead of analyst estimates of around $9.6 billion, and earnings per share came in at $2.21.

Handset chip sales in the quarter were $5.1 billion, down 20% from the same period a year earlier; the company said the quarter marks the bottom of the Chinese market. Automotive revenue, by contrast, rose 61% year on year to a record $1.59 billion, the segment's 23rd consecutive quarter of double-digit growth.

Qualcomm guided fourth-quarter fiscal revenue to between $9.70 billion and $10.50 billion, with earnings per share of $2.05 to $2.25. The company's shares fell about 4% after the results were published.
