Saudi Arabia's benchmark stock index, the TASI, rose 0.29 percent from the previous session to 10,798 points on Monday 27 July 2026. Despite the daily gain, the index is down 1.01 percent over the past month and 0.80 percent compared with the same period last year.
The session came alongside a sharp fall in oil prices. Brent crude fell 7.48 percent from the previous day to $91.03 a barrel on Monday 27 July 2026, after the United States and Iran halted their strikes over the weekend.
Because of the heavy weighting of oil and petrochemical companies, the Saudi market is one of the fastest in the region to reflect changes in the oil price, and for market participants in Iran it is an early read on how the region is absorbing the drop.
