Saudi Arabia's main index falls 1.25% to close at 10,544 on Wednesday

29 July 2026 | 3 months ago

Saudi Arabia's benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed down 134.01 points, or 1.25%, at 10,544.10 on Wednesday, 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405). Total trading turnover for the session was SR5.29 billion, about $1.41 billion, with 305.45 million shares changing hands.

Market breadth was negative, with 199 stocks declining and 55 advancing. The fall came after two external factors: the wait for the US Federal Reserve's rate decision the same day, and the resumption of hostilities in the region.

The Saudi bourse is the largest equity market in the Persian Gulf. Because the Saudi riyal is pegged to the dollar, Federal Reserve rate decisions feed directly into monetary policy and equity valuations in this market. Market participants in Iran follow the index as one barometer of how the region is absorbing risk.
