A review of the Statistical Centre of Iran's report on food price changes in Tir 1405, reported on Sunday 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405), shows the price of liquid cooking oil rose about 3 percent from the previous month and 344 percent compared with Tir of last year. Solid cooking oil recorded an annual increase of about 400 percent.
In the dairy group, pasteurised milk rose 6 percent from the previous month and 150 percent against Tir 1404, while yoghurt rose 8 percent and 130 percent respectively. The price of chicken fell about 14 percent in Tir compared with Khordad, but remains 190 percent above its level in Tir of last year.
Fruit prices moved in different directions: bananas fell 13 percent from Khordad while apples rose 17 percent, though both recorded annual increases of about 100 percent. The data indicate that temporary monthly declines in some items have not offset the sharp price increases of the past year.
