Tehran Chamber of Commerce says Iran's cargo is moving through Türkiye, Pakistan, China and Eurasia

The head of the transport and logistics commission at the Tehran Chamber of Commerce said on Monday 27 July 2026 that alternative routes for continuing Iran's trade have been activated and that goods are currently moving through Türkiye, Pakistan, China and the Eurasian countries.
He said the rail and land route from China to Iran is also operating, although infrastructure constraints and container handling problems persist.
The significance lies in the state of the sea corridors: with shipping disrupted in the Strait of Hormuz, part of the country's foreign trade has been forced onto northern and eastern land and rail routes. Shifting cargo onto those routes typically lengthens transit times and raises logistics costs, which can show up in the landed price of imported goods.
